During sunflower harvesting, the combine harvester’s header is the first point of contact with the plants, which requires sophisticated technology and gentle treatment of the crop. This is the key to reach the maximum yield during harvesting.
Seed can not fall to the ground
The low-profile OptiSun sunflower header, equipped with seed-collecting shaking trays, uses an eccentric-driven shaking arm to continuously transfer sunflower heads into the auger trough. The crop cannot accumulate, so the seeds are delivered to the inclined conveyor without loss. Not a single sunflower seed is left in the field, allowing more yield to be collected.
Gentle with Sunflower
The ear chains placed on each row gently guide the sunflower stems towards the star-shaped cutting mechanism. Then, it leads them to the center conveyor, minimizing the mechanical stress on the plant. The OptiSun feeding system does not transfer the vibrations to the plant, thus preventing premature seed shedding.
Hectare is a friend the machine
The OptiSun combines loss-free harvesting with high working speed. Each row is equipped with a four-bladed rotary cutter and a counter-cutter, ensuring fast, low-energy cutting. The cut sunflower heads are gently transported to the center conveyor by ear chains, free from any shaking.
• Each blade is made of highly alloyed, hardened steel, providing good wear resistance.
• The counter-rotating blade system requires low power and cuts every stalk that comes into contact with it.
• The cutting mechanism's transfer chains are set to 8-12 km/h harvesting speed.
The gathering auger with a diameter of 500 mm ensures a uniform crop flow even in the case of high-yielding plants. To prevent damage, it is equipped with a safety clutch. As a result, the NAS is perfectly suitable for high-speed harvesting of high-yielding crops.
Sorghum, hemp, and many others
The OptiSun adapters are specifically designed for the loss-free harvest of sunflower, but are also suitable for harvesting other specialty crops such as hemp or sorghum. It combines low seed loss with high-speed harvesting thanks to its unique gentle conveying system. During the design of the OptiSun, great emphasis was placed on careful and gentle plant handling.
